Book a Service with your MOT and save time and money.
It's cheaper for us to carry out a service and MOT at the same time - therefore we can make it cheaper for you!
At Setyres, we offer a range of car servicing options so you can select the one which best meets your vehicle requirements:
An interim car service is ideal for vehicles that travel long distances or are frequently used. Setyres recommends an interim service is undertaken every 6,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes sooner. Please check manufacturer's guidance for servicing schedules specific to your vehicle.
During this service, our specialists will change your oil and replace the oil filter, top up your water, screen wash and antifreeze containers and check the outside of your vehicle.
Furthermore, your brakes, tyres, wipers, exhaust, lights and suspension rubbers, shocks and springs will also be inspected. Learn more about what’s included in a car service from our detailed guide.
Our full car service should be undertaken every 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes sooner, and will provide all the essential maintenance that your vehicle requires. Please check manufacturer's guidance for servicing schedules specific to your vehicle. This service includes everything from the interim service plus some extras.
This includes changing your oil and replacing your oil filter, checking under the bonnet and inspecting your spark plugs, which will be replaced if necessary at an additional cost.
In addition, our technicians will check your cabin filter, air filter and fuel filter and the water, screen wash and antifreeze containers will be topped up.
To complete your car service, checks will be carried out on the outside and inside of your vehicle and components such as your lights, brakes, wipers and tyres will be inspected. In addition, your exhaust and all the components of your steering and suspension system will be checked for corrosion, leaks and effectiveness.
Please note that anything replaced will incur an additional charge – but we won’t carry out any work without confirmation from you beforehand.
Before getting an oil and filter service, we recommend checking your vehicle handbook. This is because different manufacturers have different recommendations when it comes to having your oil changed and filter replaced – this can vary from 3,000 miles to 12,000 miles.
As a bare minimum, however, an oil and filter service should be undertaken at least once a year even if you are not due an interim or full service. Oil is vital when it comes to lubricating your vehicle’s engine and over time it can lose its efficiency and cause excessive wear on the internal components of your engine.

Regular car servicing is important as it serves as a mechanical check of your vehicle. Unlike the MOT Test, which ensures that your vehicle is road safe and meets legal requirements, a car service inspects the parts of your vehicle susceptible to wear, such as spark plugs, brake pads, the gear box and exhaust system.
Find out why regular car servicing is essential when it comes to maintaining your vehicle.
Your car requires a service every 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes sooner. For high mileage vehicles, you should also consider having an interim service either every 6 months or 6,000 miles. Some car manufacturers recommend that your oil is changed more frequently than your vehicle will need servicing, so you should check your vehicle handbook for this information.
A car service length is dependent on which level of service you choose - a full services takes approximately 3-4 hours while an interim service takes an hour and a half. If any problems are found, and you confirm with us that the issue can be fixed, the service may take longer.
Your car’s service history should be outlined in your service book. If you have misplaced or lost this, it can be tricky to track down your car’s entire service history – particularly if your car was owned by someone else prior to your ownership. We recommend initially contacting the centre that normally services your car – they should be able to provide you with records of your vehicle’s history.
There is also the option to fill out a V888 form via the DVLA’s website. For £5, this form allows you to request particular data from the DVLA, such as the contact details for the previous owners of your vehicle. You can then contact them for information on where they had the car serviced.
