What is a full car service?

A full car service is a more comprehensive version of an interim service, which includes more checks and additional components. It’s suggested you need to book in for a full car service every 12,000 miles, or every 12 months – whichever is sooner. Here at Setyres, we can offer an extensive full car service. Consider combining your full car service with an MOT test for the ultimate way of ensuring your vehicle is properly maintained and safe. Learn the difference between an MOT and service from our helpful guide.

What does a full service include?

A full car service includes:

  • Changing your oil and replacing your oil filter
  • Checking under the bonnet
  • Inspecting your spark plugs (which will be replaced if necessary). Spark plug replacements will incur an additional charge.
  • Checking your cabin filter, air filter and fuel filter and the water, screen wash and antifreeze containers will be topped up.

In order to complete your service, manual checks will be carried out on both the outside and inside of your vehicle, inspecting components such as your lights, brakes, wipers and tyres. In addition, your exhaust and all the components of your steering and suspension system will also be checked for corrosion, leaks and effectiveness. Learn how long an MOT and service takes from our detailed guide.
